Visitors & Volunteers

HRU welcomes general visitors to meet the horses by advance appointment. We regularly host visits from 4-H programs, Boy and Girl Scouts, or those looking for on-the-ground, therapeutic interactions with horses. To schedule a visit, email lunar_aradia@yahoo.com. Each member of your party must complete a visitor waiver.

Volunteers Wanted

HRU relies 100% on unpaid volunteers to care for our horses and continue our work. Whether you are in the Wall, NJ area or across the country, we can use your help. To start the process, email lunar_aradia@yahoo.com then complete a volunteer waiver.

Current volunteers needs:

Feeding horses

• Must commit to one same day/time each week
• Takes about an hour, AM or PM
• Prior horse care experience required

Mucking run-in sheds

• Heavy work, but prior horse care experience is not required
• On your own schedule

Grooming horses

• Help keep our horses clean and happy
• On your own schedule
• Prior horse care experience required

Grant writing/submissions

• Help HRU apply for 501(c)(3) grants and awards

Adoption checks

• Call prospective adopters' references or conduct on-site home checks

Fundraising / promoting horses for adoption

• Coordinate in-person or online fundraisers
• Promote HRU's horses for adoption online and/or in-person events/locations
